Bill Cioffredi, PT
Founder & Physical Therapist
Bill graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1979 with a degree in Physical Therapy. He has extensive experience in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, with areas of special interest including the spine, ankle & foot disorders, headaches, TMJ dysfunction, and injuries related to the fine arts.
Bill played football growing up and through college where he played at the Division 1 level. It was his interest in biomechanics and physiology that led him into the PT profession. “Through my involvement in sports I had an interest in the physiology and biomechanics of how the body worked. As part of my participation in the Shrine game we went and visited the kids at the children’s hospital in Springfield, Mass. It was a very positive experience that left a lasting impression on me and was an influence in my decision.More
Bill started his career at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center where he met his wife Ruth. Together they opened Cioffredi & Associates in 1985. As a CEO, Bill is fully committed to ensuring that all patients at the clinic have a positive total experience.
In 2012 Bill received his certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN), which uses solid filament needles, like those used in acupuncture, to target trigger points deep within the muscle. TDN is an additional tool that Bill uses in his care, when appropriate, to help lengthen and loosen tight muscles. Outside of the office he enjoys running, hiking and skiing. Bill resides in Lebanon, New Hampshire with his wife, three daughters, and son.
Clinical Director, Physical Therapist
Marsha graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 1995. She is a board certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This advanced certification requires a minimum of 2,000 hours of direct patient care in orthopaedic physical therapy practice. To date there are just over 7600 physical therapists with the OCS designation, and only 29 clinicians with this designation in the state of New Hampshire. Marsha is also certified through the McKenzie Institute USA in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the spine (Cert MDT).A lifelong athlete, Marsha began swimming competitively at age 5.
She went on to swim at Junior Olympics, age-group nationals, and eventually Division I at the University of Minnesota where she was a member of the travel squad.More
Marsha lives in the Upper Valley Area with her daughter Rya, and son Easton. In her free time she enjoys running and cooking.
Ruth graduated from the University of New Hampshire in 1981 with a degree in Occupational Therapy and a minor in psychology. She specializes in hand therapy, treating painful problems of the hand, wrist, and thumb. Ruth was a charter member of the American Society of Hand Therapists. Her involvement in hand therapy spans over 25 years, during which time she has been instrumental in the design and development of hand clinics with surgeons. She also spent eight years as an Associate Professor in the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at River Valley Community College. She started her career at Dartmouth Hitchcock, where she met her husband Bill, and in 1985 they opened Cioffredi & Associates.More
Ruth’s interests include spending time with family, running, skiing and hiking. Ruth resides in Lebanon, New Hampshire with her husband, three daughters, and son.
Becca received a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Cleveland State University in 2006. Prior to grad school she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Anthropology from the University of Vermont. Becca joined Cioffredi & Associates in 2011 after practicing in both inpatient and outpatient settings in Chicago, Illinois where she worked with pediatric through geriatric populations and managed an outpatient clinic.
Becca has extensive training in manual therapy which she incorporates in her care. In 2012 she received her certification in Trigger Point Dry Needling (TDN), which uses solid filament needles, like those used in acupuncture, to target trigger points deep within the muscle. In college she participated in lacrosse and crew, rowing at many of the major races along the East Coast. She also volunteered for Vermont Adaptive Ski and Sports aiding in downhill ski instruction and rock climbing. In recent years she has been focusing on running, completing five half-marathons. She also enjoys hiking, kayaking, downhill skiing, and practicing yoga. Becca lives in the Sunapee Region with her husband Tim, daughter Claire, and their dog Woody.
Kate holds a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (2007) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science (2005) from Sacred Heart University. She is a graduate of SHU’s Orthopaedic Physical Therapy Residency Program, a highly competitive and intensive year of advanced study post-doctorate. A lifelong equestrian, as an undergraduate she was captain of the SHU Women’s Equestrian Team (Division 1).

Kate enjoys treating a wide variety of musculoskeletal diagnoses and body regions. Her treatment philosophy is to provide patient-centered, evidence-based care, and she has particular interest in treatment of the winter sports athlete across the lifespan. At Cioffredi & Associates Kate serves as our Coordinator of Clinical Staff Development, overseeing our mentorship program for new clinicians and helping all staff to hone their clinical skills.
She lives in the Upper Valley with her husband Brad. In her free time she enjoys snowboarding, skiing, cycling, running, and horseback riding.
Anna received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Connecticut in May 2013. Prior to graduate school, Anna received a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine. She is currently a member of the American Physical Therapy Association. Having been an athlete through college, she enjoys working with orthopedic and sports injuries, and also has interests in prenatal and vestibular care. Anna lives in the Sunapee region with her boyfriend and their dog. She enjoys many outdoor activities including running, swimming, hiking, fishing, and skiing.
Zac received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Rhode Island in 2013. He then went on to graduate Magna Cum Laude from Franklin Pierce University earning his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2016.
Growing up Zac was an avid baseball player, playing three seasons a year from the time he was 8 years old through high school. As he grew as an athlete he developed a strong interest in learning more about the biomechanics of baseball and how the body works. When he sustained an ankle injury that required physical therapy, he knew he had found his life’s calling.More
Zac, who joined our practice in May of 2016, was attracted to Cioffredi & Associates because of the variety of services that are offered to take clients beyond rehab. When treating orthopedic and sport injuries Zac enjoys utilizing a functional approach and manual therapy techniques to achieve the patient’s desired goals. Due to his love of baseball, Zac has a special interest in treating shoulder and throwing injuries.
Outside of the clinic Zac enjoys fishing, snowboarding, running, biking, wake boarding, and hiking with his dog. He has also competed in multiple Tough Mudders and 5ks.
Julie Messenger earned her Doctorate in PT in 2007, as well as a BS in Psychology in 2004, from Sacred Heart University. She has been practicing orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation therapy since 2007, with a special interest in adolescent athletes.More
Emily graduated with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Vermont in May 2016. Prior to attending graduate school, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences in 2015 while competing as a four-year member of the UVM Varsity Women’s Soccer team. In addition to her physical therapy training, Emily became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association in June of 2012.More
In addition to treating musculoskeletal injuries, Emily also has an interest in treating concussion, vestibular, and neurologic diagnoses. When not in the clinic, Emily continues to be involved in coaching youth soccer in the Burlington, Vermont area. She enjoys running, hiking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
A native of Ichihara City, Japan, Aoi moved to the United States at the age of 15 to attend Wyoming Seminary College Preparatory School where she was introduced to the field of sports medicine through her active participation in varsity athletics. Her fascination with human anatomy and physiology and passion for sports led her to complete the Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training at Marywood University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 2010.More
Raphael completed a one year internship with Cioffredi & Associates last year, and is excited to have been invited back to work part time as a Rehabilitation Aide while he completes his senior year of high school. Raphael is a member of the National Honor Society and has been nominated for Lebanon High School’s Student of the Month. He has been part of the Varsity Cross Country and Track teams for all four years of high school and hopes to continue his running career in college while working towards his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.
Personal Training & Health Coaching
Davis received his Bachelor of Science degree from Saint Joseph’s College of Maine, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2016. While at Saint Joseph’s, Davis was a four year member and a two-time captain of the men’s basketball team. He was also a three-time Academic All-Conference Member and a two-time NABC Academic All-American. Davis is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA).More
Born and raised in High Point, NC, Davis competed for both his high school basketball and tennis teams. His constant involvement in athletics sparked his interest in joining Saint Joseph’s Exercise Science program. However, it was through his injuries and time spent in rehabilitation clinics that inspired him to pursue future Physical Therapy graduate studies.
Richard Hackett, BS, CSCS, ACSM EPC, NSCA CPT

Richie is a graduate of Lyndon State College with a Bachelor’s of Science in Exercise Science with a concentration in Pre-Professional Physical Therapy. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, and a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine.
Richie comes to Cioffredi & Associates with experience in strength and conditioning, outpatient physical therapy, wellness programming for middle aged and senior individuals, and senior group fitness classes.More
Joe Soojian, BS, NSCA-CPT
Personal Trainer & Rehabilitation Aide
Joe holds a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Colby -Sawyer College and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
Always athletic, Joe participated in several sports growing up in Massachusetts including soccer and basketball, which he continued participating in at Colby-Sawyer College. With a strong interest in movement and physiology, he always knew he wanted to work in the rehab and fitness field. Joe is especially interested in working with people post rehab to help them further their fitness goals and achieve a higher level of function.More

Sadie is a graduate of the River Valley Community College Massage Therapy Program. Prior to studying massage, Sadie earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Simmons College where she studied a Pre-Physical Therapy Curriculum. She is a New Hampshire licensed Massage Therapist and a current Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP) member.
Prior to joining Cioffredi & Associates she worked in a spa setting, and also as an intern at DHMC in the Inpatient Oncology Department providing massage for patients.More

Elena Borriello, LMT
Elena is a graduate of the River Valley Community College massage program who hails from Massachusetts, where she grew up playing sports. “I was always involved in sports, and loved a good competition.” Growing up she played softball, basketball, and field hockey. She continues to stay active, and is a self-proclaimed Cross Fit fanatic. Her interest in healthy living led her into the health care field.More
Registered Dietitian & Certified Diabetes Educator
Amy is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator with over 25 years of experience helping people to maintain optimal health and performance through nutrition. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Foods & Nutrition from the State University of New York at Plattsburgh, and completed her dietetic internship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston.
Amy specializes in helping people of all ages design personalized nutrition plans to prevent or manage chronic diseases, food allergies and intolerances, improve sports performance and maintain vitality.More

Amy’s annual travel to Italy and France influenced her study and practice of nutrition, from a Mediterranean lifestyle perspective, where food is revered and people take time to enjoy life over a delicious meal with family and friends. When not working, Amy enjoys being a Mom, doing just about anything outdoors, traveling, and enjoying good food with family and friends.
Certified Nutrition Specialist
Holly earned her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Virginia and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University. She practiced nursing for seven years in an acute care setting, and another two years in oncology. It was here where she developed a passion for
nutrition and a desire to work in preventative health care. She returned to school and earned a Masters in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport.
She achieved her national certification as a Certified Nutrition Specialist and is also certified as a Lifestyle Coach in First Line Therapy. Holly has been providing nutritional counseling for the past four years in the Upper Valley with a focus on functional nutrition.More
Holly played lacrosse in college and continues to help coach girls lacrosse at the middle school level. She has a passion for the outdoors, and enjoys trail running, hiking, snowshoeing and fly fishing. Her favorite quote is: “You are what you eat!” Holly lives in Norwich, VT with her husband, 3 children, and 2 dogs.
Chief Executive Officer
Amy joined Cioffredi & Associates in 2006 after six years in the sports business field. She graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, MA with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Management. Amy is a Lebanon native but now resides in Grantham, NH with her husband Shawn, daughter Anna Mae, son Anthony, and their two coonhounds, Portia and Remington. Outside of work, she enjoys snowmobiling, gardening, and reading.
Amy served as our Administrative Director before being promoted to CEO in January 2015.
Public Relations Coordinator
Joy is a native of the Upper Valley who grew up in Newbury, VT. She holds a BA from the University of Hartford and an MA from Dartmouth College. She joined Cioffredi & Associates in 2016 after seven years in independent school advancement communications, and prior to that a 14-year career as a New Hampshire art educator. Joy designs all of our promotional materials, and writes for both our printed newsletters and monthly e-newsletter. She is excited to support an amazing team of professionals who are making a difference in people’s lives. In her free time, Joy enjoys spending time with her husband and son, gardening, and all things crafty and historical.
Client Care Representative
As the Client Care Representative, Michele ensures that all clients of Cioffredi & Associates get what they need and want from their care and that their experience with us is of the highest quality.
Michele has been practicing as an Integrative Health Coach in the Upper Valley for the past 10 years, specializing in immune system and GI wellness and has, recently, added Personal Cheffing to her services. As a Freelance Writer in the field of Integrative Health, Michele’s pieces have been published in: Upper Upper Valley Parent’s Paper, HEAL, Kids Stuff, Kearsarge, and Upper Valley Life Magazine.
Her passions span from recipe development, cooking and baking, educational/teaching/demo cooking parties, along with writing and traveling.
Client Care Coordinator, Billing Assistant
Cindy joined Cioffredi & Associates in 2008. She comes to us from a varied background, most recently an outpatient clinic in Arizona. She has also owned her own business, worked in a marketing department, a school district office and the front office of her church. Each position was centered around teamwork and customer service. Her husband, Charlie, has a career that has led her and their 3 children across the U.S. This has given them the opportunity to experience different cultures and make friends they value as true blessings to their family. They consider their move to Lebanon in 2007 one of the best for what the area has to offer for events, activities and education.
Client Care Coordinator
Jamie grew up in the Upper Valley, and attended Mascoma High School. Prior to joining our staff in the summer of 2015, Jamie worked in a variety of customer service positions. She has a strong love of animals, and hopes to further her education in the veterinary field at some point. Jamie has two children, and in her spare time enjoys hiking, biking, kayaking. She also has a love of adventuring on four wheelers, dirt bikes, snowmobiles and jet skis.

Arica graduated from Hartford High School in 2006. She comes to Cioffredi & Associates with a strong background as an administrative assistant. Prior to joining our staff in the fall of 2015 she spent five years at Dartmouth Hitchcock as an administrative assistant and medical secretary. In her spare time Arica enjoys fishing, snow shoeing, kayaking and spending time with her nine year old Lab mix named Rosie, rescue dog from Virginia.
Jessica graduated from Mascoma Valley High School in 2007 with high honors. In 2009 she received her license to be a nursing assistant from Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center. She worked for DHMC for two years as a LNA/ Medical Secretary in the Intensive Care Unit as well as the Birthing Pavilion. Before starting at Cioffredi & Associates, Jessica’s background consisted of customer service, front office/reception, and running her own daycare business. In her free time she enjoys spending time with family and friends, outdoor activities, and traveling.
